We are Don and Sharon Barfield, of SOUTH CREEK MASTIFFS. 

We're located in northeast Ohio near Lake Erie.

 

We currently reside with 2 female mastiffs:  "Fortune" a brindle and

"Journey" an apricot.  Both of these girls have come to us from prominent breeders within the State of Ohio.

 

My love for this breed began in 2003 when my daughter finally found a mastiff of her own, after dragging me from breeder to breeder with her for nearly 2 years.  When my daughter's allergies became too bad, her sweet mastiff girl came to live with my husband and me.  It didn't take the year that she lived here for me to fall in love with the breed, it was quite instantaneous.  When her dog was able to go back to her 'real' home, I knew that one of these wonderful dogs had to be mine someday.  In 2006 I bought my very own mastiff from Erieside Mastiffs of Concord, Ohio.

 

She has truly been the super best dog anyone could ever imagine.  Although not quite a Champion yet, she is also certified as a therapy dog and is a canine good citizen.  Fortune and I have started with obedience competitions and are into Rally.  We plan on getting her Rally Novice title and her Companion Dog title this year.

 

I had never thought we would add to our family of mastiffs, but everyone that is also owned by mastiffs always said that you cannot have just one.  They are absolutely correct!

 

In 2008 we added our second girl, Journey, from Windfall Mastiffs in

Litchfield, Ohio.  She has begun her show career and we are hoping

for some good wins in 2009.  (. . . both girls finished in Spring 2010! )
